The Hepworth Wakefield Print Fair: Introducing Robert Battams
Robert Battams looks at the abstract landscape, juxtaposing found elements and advertising billboard papers with representations of networks, infrastructures and architecture. His work explores the relationship of Art and technology, and his new work focuses on the human computer symbiosis; the uncanny overlap between organic and artificial material and technologies.
He studied Sculpture at the University of the Arts London and has been selected for the Jerwood Drawing Prize in 2011 and 2015. He reached the final round of selection for the Royal Academy Summer Show in 2015 and has also completed editorial work for Vanity Fair.
The Hepworth Wakefield Print Fair returns on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 March 2016, with a host of supporting events which celebrate the art of printmaking. Held in The Calder and featuring over 40 printmakers, collectives and galleries handpicked from around the UK, the fair will provide a friendly atmosphere for both budding collectors and seasoned print enthusiasts to engage with all things print.
